नेपालबाट राजतन्त्र अन्त्य भएको १५ वर्ष भयो । गणतन्त्र आए पछि जनअपेक्षा वमोजिम काम नभएको भन्दै राजावादीहरु फेरी राजतन्त्र फर्काउने अभियानमा छन् । के नेपालमा फेरी राजतन्त्र आउन सक्छ ? राजउत्तराधिकारीका रुपमा नजन्मिएका ज्ञानेन्द्र शाह संयोगले २ पटक राजा भए । उनकै कार्यकालमा राजतन्त्रको अन्त्य भयो । फेरी तेस्रो पटक उनी राजा हुन सम्भव छ त ? प्रस्तुत छ, ज्ञानेन्द्र शाहको बिगत बारे यो समाग्री ।
२००७ साल कात्तिक २१ गते शिकार गर्नेे वहानमा तत्कालिन राजा त्रिभुवन दुई रानी, युवराज महेन्द्र र नवयुवराजाधिराज वीरेन्द्र सहित सपरिवार भारतीय दुतावासमा शरण लिन पुगे । राजालाई फिर्ता गराउन गरेको अथक प्रयास असफल भएपछि राणाहरु संकटमा परे ।
राजाको मृत्यु भए पनि युवराजाधिराजलाई गद्दिको उत्तराधिकारी बनाएर मात्र दाहसंस्कार गर्ने चलन थियो । राजाको अनुपस्थितीमा युवराज र उनी पनि नभए नवयुवराजलाई राजा बनाउनु पर्ने । तर राजा त्रिभुवन, युवराज वीरेन्द्र र नवयुवराज वीरेन्द्र नभएको अवस्थामा कसलाई राजा बनाउने राणा शासकमा संकट आई लाग्यो ।
पुरै राजपरिवारले विदेशी दुतावासमा शरण लिदा राजाका माइला नाती शाहज्यादा ज्ञानेन्द्र मात्र मामा घरमा छुटेका थिए । कात्तिक २१ गते राती राणाहरुले उनैलाई राजा बनाउने निर्णय गरे ।
अनी भाईभारदार र संसदका सदस्यहरुलाई कात्तिक २२ गते बिहान ७ वजे सिंहदरवारमा उपस्थित हुन उर्दी पठाइयो ।
सिंहदरवारमा भएको त्यही बैठकमा त्रिभुवनको सट्टामा साढे ३ वर्षका ज्ञानेन्द्रलाई राजा बनाउने कुरामा सबैले मौन स्वीकृति जनाए र शीर ब्यहोरा नै नलेखिएको कागजमा सही गरेर उनीहरु फर्किए । भोली पल्ट २००७ कात्तिक २३ गतेको गोरखापत्रमा संसद सदस्य र प्रमुख पदाधिकारीहरुको सर्वसम्मतिबाट ५ ज्ञानेन्द्रलाई नेपाल नरेश वनाउने निर्णय भएको खवर गोर्खापत्रमा छापियो । आफूले सही गरेको कागजमा के लेखिएको थियो भन्ने कुरा सही गर्नेहरुले गोरखापत्र पढेर मात्र थाहा पाए ।
२००७ सालमा राजा ज्ञानेन्द्रका नाममा जारी भएको सिक्का
नावालक ज्ञानेन्द्रलाई राजा बनाए पछि राणाहरुले उनको नाममा मोहर रुपैया चल्तिमा ल्याए । २००७ साल मंसिर १५ गते देखि श्री ५ महाराजाधिराज ज्ञानेन्द्रको नाममा असर्फी, डवल, मोहर, पचन्नी टक छापिए ।
पछि भारत सरकार, राणा र नेपाली कांग्रेस बिच त्रिभुवनलाई नै राजा राख्ने र ज्ञानेन्द्रलाई उनको प्रतिनिधि मान्ने सहमति भयो । अनी २००७ साल पुष २८ गते देखि राजा ज्ञानेन्द्रको नाममा टक छाप्न बन्द गरी पुनः त्रिभुवनकै नाममा छापिन थाल्यो । त्रिभुवन स्वदेश नफर्किदासम्म ४ महिनाका लागि उनका नाती ज्ञानेन्द्र राजा भए ।
राजाको जेठो छोरा मात्र राजा हुने शाह वंशको परम्परा हो । तर ज्ञानेन्दलाई राजा महेन्द्रको माहिलो छोरा भएर पनि दुई दुई पटक राजा हुने अवसर प्राप्त भयो । उनी आफ्ना पिता महेन्द्र भन्दा पहिला राजा भए । राजा ज्ञानेन्द्र पछि बाजे त्रिभुवन, वुवा महेन्द्र, दाजु वीरन्द्र राजा भए । २०५८ जेठ १९ को राजदरवार हत्याकाण्ड पछि भतिजा श्री ५ दीपेन्द्रलाई राजा घोषणा गरियो । जेठ २२ गते दीपेन्द्रको निधन भएको औपचारिक घोषणा भयो । यसरी ५१ वर्ष पछि ज्ञानेन्द्रलाई पुनः राजा वन्ने अवसर प्राप्त भयो ।
राजतन्त्र भएका मुलुकहरुमा यस्तो दुर्लभ घटना र संयोग छैन । पहिलो पटक २००७ साल(कात्तिक २२ गते राजा भएका उनी २०५८ सालमा (जेठ) मा पनि २२ गते नै राजा हुन पुगे । ज्ञानेन्द्रकै कार्यकालमा २०६५ जेठ १५ गते शान्तिपूर्ण रुपमा संविधानसभाको पहिलो बैठकले नेपालमा गणतन्त्र स्थापना ग-यो । २३८ वर्ष लामो राजतन्त्र अन्त्य भयो । शाह बंशका अन्तिम राजा ज्ञानेन्द्रले २०६५ साल जेठ २९ गते नारायणहिटी राजदरवार छोडे । यति वेला उनी आम नागरिक सरह जीवन विताई रहेका छन् ।
