नेपाली कांग्रेस संसदीय दलको नेताका लागि १३ औं पटक निर्वाचन हुदै छ । कांग्रेसमा प्रधानमन्त्री वन्नका लागि संसदीय दलको नेतामा निर्वाचित हुनु पर्छ । त्यससैले पनि दलको नेता पार्टी भित्र सर्वाधिक चासोको पद हो । २०१५ सालको आम निर्वाचन पछि नेपाली कांग्रेसको इतिहासमा शुरु भएको यो प्रतिश्पर्धामा सवै भन्दा वढी सहभागी हुने नेता शेरबहादुर देउवा हुन् । २०५१ को मध्यावधी चुनावपछि सर्वसम्मत रुपमा नेता चुनिएका देउवाको यो ८ औं प्रतिश्पर्धा हो । यस अर्थमा पचास प्रतिशत भन्दा वढी चुनाव देउवाले मात्र प्रतिश्पर्धा गरेका छन् ।
