बिहेको विषयमा विद्याले आमालाई जानकारी दिइन्- ‘म पार्टीमार्फत, पार्टीले निर्णय गरेअनुसार बिहे गर्ने भएँ।’ आमाले रोक्न सक्ने अवस्था थिएन। बिहेको निर्णय भइसकेको थियो।चित्त दुखाइन्- ‘यो संसारमा कोही क्षत्री केटो नभेटेर बाहुनका छोरासँग बिहे गरेकी?’
बी.के. र सिर्जना देवकोटाको डेरा पार्टी हेडक्वार्टरजस्तै थियो- ठूला नेताहरू प्रायः सबै भेला हुने। २०३९ वैशाख १० गते जेठो छोराको न्वारान थियो। माले नेताहरू सीपी र माधव ९ गते नै पुगेका थिए। भोलिपल्ट बिहानै मदन पनि पुगे। अलि पछि विद्या आइन्। खानपिन चल्यो। नेताहरू बालकको नाम जुराउन घोत्लिए। पण्डितले नाम जुराएको भए पनि माधवले ‘निर्मल’ राखिदिए। सबैले समर्थन गरे।
सधैं बेलुका नेताहरू छलफलमा जुट्थे। त्यो दिन दिउँसै भयो छलफल। निकै बेर गुनगुन आवाज आइरह्यो। सीपी बोल्थे, घरीघरी विद्याको आवाज पनि आउँथ्यो। मदन पनि बोल्थे, माधव पनि बोल्थे। सिर्जनाले नेताहरूको स्वर चिने पनि विषय ठम्याउनचाहिँ पटक्कै सकिनन्।
राति ३ बजेतिर निस्किएका सीपीले पचास रुपियाँ दिएर बी.के. देवकोटालाई भने- ‘आज दुइटा महत्त्वपूर्ण काम भए। भान्जाको न्वारान गरियो, विद्या र मदन कमरेडको विवाह निश्चित भयो। पार्टीले अनुमति दियो। चियापानको व्यवस्था गरौं।’
बी.के. र सिर्जनाले बल्ल थाहा पाए- बैठक त मदन र विद्याको बिहे टुङ्ग्याउनलाई पो रहेछ।
सबै नेता छुट्टिएर आआफ्ना कार्यक्षेत्र फर्किए।
मदन पार्टी काममा पहाडतिर लाग्ने तरखर थियो, अचानक खुट्टो मर्कियो। तर, आराम गर्नुको साटो ‘क्रान्तिकारीका लागि यो केही होइन’ भन्दै हिँडिरहे। खुट्टो झन्झन् सुन्निँदै गयो। उपचार नगरी नहुने भएपछि तुरुन्त विराटनगर लगियो। अस्पताल लगेर जँचाएपछि डाक्टरले एक भारीको प्लास्टर गरेर भन्यो- एक महिना आराम गर्नु ! तर, मदन ओछ्यानमा अडिए पो। मोटरसाइकलमा पछाडि बसेर, खुट्टो झुन्ड्याउँदै काममा लागिहाले। बस्ता खुट्टो तेर्स्याउनुपर्ने, बोलीचाहिँ नरोकिने।
त्यति बेला विराटनगरका पार्टी प्रमुख थिए- डिल्ली मैनाली। एक दिन डिल्लीले बी.के.लाई जानकारी गराए- पार्टीले मदन र विद्याको बिहे पनि तपाईंकैबाट गर्ने निधो गरेको छ। कमरेडहरू तयारी अवस्थामा रहनुहोला।
साउन २४ गते विवाह हुने पक्का भयो। त्यहीअनुसार तयारीमा जुटे देवकोटाहरू। लगभग १५० रुपियाँको थियो, विवाह बजेट। पार्टीको निर्देशनअनुसार विवाह व्यवस्थापन समितिले सामान्य खानपानको व्यवस्था ग¥यो।
राति ८ बजेतिर सुरु भएको विवाह कार्यक्रममा कोठाको एकातिर पाँच प्राधिकार (मार्क्स, एङ्गेल्स, लेनिन, स्टालिन र माओ) का तस्बिर झुन्ड्याइएको थियो। तस्बिरसँगै हँसिया-हथौडाअङ्कित कम्युनिस्ट पार्टीको झन्डा थियो। त्यसमुनि सुनौलो रङमा ‘क्रान्तिकारी विवाह’ लेखिएको ब्यानर बत्तीको मधुरो उज्यालोमा टल्किरहेथ्यो।
कोठाबाहिरको सुरक्षा जिम्मा धनकुटाका कमरेड गगनले लिएका थिए। उनी बाहिरै भए पनि भित्र भने विवाह कार्यक्रमले औपचारिक रूप लियो। अशोक राईले उद्घोषण गरे। पोलिटब्युरो सदस्य माधव नेपाल विवाह कार्यक्रमको अध्यक्ष थिए। केन्द्रीय सदस्य ईश्वर पोखरेललाई प्रमुख अतिथि बनाइयो। मोरङ पार्टी प्रमुख दर्शन, डिल्ली मैनाली, सुनसरीका राजेश बान्तवा, मदनको परिवारबाट प्रेम र गीता तथा अन्य कार्यकर्ता गरी जम्मा १७ जना सहभागी थिए।
उद्घोषकले क्रान्तिकारी विवाहबारे विचार राख्न सबैलाई आग्रह गरे। त्यही मेसोमा नवविवाहित जोडीलाई सबैले शुभकामना दिए।
कार्यक्रमका अध्यक्षले सिन्दुर लगाइदिन आग्रह गरे। सिन्दुर, पोते र माला लाइदिने कार्य सम्पन्न भयो। दुलहा र दुलहीले बोल्ने क्रममा क्रान्ति र विवाहको आदर्श पूर्ण रूपमा निर्वाह गर्ने प्रतिज्ञा गरे। अध्यक्षले विवाह सम्पन्न भएको घोषणा गरे। त्यसपछि खानपिन सुरु भयो।
खानपिन सकिँदा बिहानको ३ बजिसकेको थियो। कोही आराम गर्न लागे, कोही कार्यक्षेत्र फर्किने तयारीमा जुटे।
मदन-विद्या विवाहको पूर्वकथा पनि थियो? कथा स्वाभाविक थियो कि अस्वाभाविक?
खासमा यो विवाहको कथा अचानक सुरु भएको थिएन।
विद्या र मदनको पहिलो भेट भोजपुरमा भएको थियो, कुनै संयोगले। भोजपुर क्याम्पस पढ्ने विद्या सदरमुकाममै बस्थिन्। मदन पार्टी कामले पुगेका थिए भोजपुर, साथमा थिए पार्टी नेता अशोक राई।
विद्या र एक जना महिला साथी टुँडिखेल हुँदै कतै जाँदै थिए। बाटोमा दुई अपरिचितसँग भेट भयो। विद्याका लागि अपरिचित तर विद्याकी साथी अशोकलाई चिन्थिन्। उनीहरूले कुराकानी गरे। खासमा ती साथी मालेको सेल्टरसँग जोडिएकीले अशोकसँग आउने नयाँ मान्छे पार्टीकै कोही हुनुपर्छ भन्ने अनुमान भएछ। अशोक र अपरिचित व्यक्ति जुन सेल्टरमा पुगे। विद्या र साथी पनि त्यहीँ पुगे। विद्याकी ती साथी थिइन्- सौभाग्यवती राई।
गहुँगोरो भने पनि कालो कालो वर्णको अनुहारमाथि ह्याट जस्तै पाराको टोपी लाएको। लामा जुँगा र गठिलो शरीर। झट्ट हेर्दा सामान्य मान्छेलाई सेना वा प्रहरी जस्तो लाग्न सक्थ्यो। तर, अशोकसँग आउने मान्छे पक्कै पार्टीको हुनुपर्छ। विद्याहरूले सहजै अनुमान लगाए।
त्यो भेटमा सामान्य कुराकानी र चिनजान भयो। नयाँ मान्छेको नाम सागर रहेछ। भोजपुरेहरूले मदनलाई पहिलोपल्ट चिन्न पाए तर सागर भनेर।
टक्सार जाने बाटो, पुरानो डबलीमा थियो विद्याहरूको डेरा। पार्टीको सम्पर्कमै रहेकी विद्यालाई कोअर्डिनेसन केन्द्र हुँदै माले गठन भएको जानकारी थियो तर औपचारिक नीति र कार्यक्रमबारे कति थाहा होला र भर्खर कलेज भर्ना भएकी १६-१७ वर्षे युवतीलाई। त्यो समयको चेतना स्तर। आज आफैँलाई पत्यार नलाग्ने घटनाजस्तो, सपनाजस्तो!
तर, माले नेताहरुले विद्यालाई अलि बेग्लै ढङ्गले ‘फोकस’ गरे कि? अशोक र सागर बिहानको राति नै उनको डेरामा भेट्न पुगे। करिब डेढ घण्टा राजनीति र पार्टीका कुरा भए। अनि भुइँमा उज्यालो नखस्तै हिँडिहाले।
सागरले पहिलो भोजपुर भ्रमणमा विद्यासँग दुईपटक भेटे। विशुद्ध पार्टीगत कामका लागि।
दोस्रोपटक मदन २०३७ फागुनमा फेरि भोजपुर पुगेका थिए अशोकसँगै। फागुन २१ लाई सहिद दिवस मान्थ्यो पार्टीले। सोही कार्यक्रम लिएर भोजपुर पुगेका मदनले जुँगा काटेका थिए। अलि मोटाएजस्तो पनि। पहिले भेटेका कार्यकर्ताका लागि पनि नयाँ लाग्ने, अलि फरक। त्यसपल्टको कार्यक्रमचाहिँ सदरमुकामभन्दा अलि पर छिनामखुमा राखिएको थियो, हेमराज राईको घरमा।
सहिद दिवसको अवसर पारेर सागरले विभिन्न विषयमा प्रशिक्षण दिए। राजनीति सुरु गर्दै रहेका विद्याहरू गम्भीरता सिक्तै थिए। प्रशिक्षणमा कति बुझे, के बुझे, समझमा कति आयो वा आएन?
कार्यक्रम सकेर अशोक र मदन सदरमुकाम फर्किएर विद्याको डेरामा पसे। त्यहाँ पनि पार्टीकै कुरा भयो। मदनसँग एउटा सानो खुकुरी थियो। केटाकेटी पारामै विद्याले ‘आहा ! कति राम्रो खुकुरी’ भनेर मुख खोलिन्। अशोक र मदनले अप्ठ्यारो ठाने कि के भयो? हिँड्ने बेलामा त्यो खुकुरी विद्यालाई नै ‘उपहार’ दिए।
क्रान्तिकारीहरूले दिने र लिने उपहार पनि खुकुरी?
विद्याका बुबा २०२८ मै बितेका रे उनी १० वर्षकी छँदा। विद्या जेठी छोरी, त्यसपछि तीन भाइ र एक बहिनी। आमाले कति दुख गर्नुप¥यो होला हुर्काउन, बढाउन र पढाउन ! अनुमान मात्रै गर्न सकिन्छ। त्यस बेलाको पहाड, मुख्य आम्दानीको स्रोतै खेतीपाती। खेती गर्न खेत जोत्नुपर्ने। लोग्नेमान्छे नभएको घर। महिलाहरूले हलो जोत्न आँट नगरेको हाम्रो समाज। गाउँकाले नदेख्ने ठाउँमा जान पाए जे त नि होला ! मधेसको आकर्षण पनि बेग्लै- काम गर्ने मान्छे पाइने, खान दु:ख नहुने। यस्तै यस्तै परिस्थितिले होला विद्याका परिवार पनि मधेसतिर झरिसकेका थिए।
मोरङको बाहुनी बोनलमा पहिले नै थोरै जग्गा किनेका रहेछन् बुबाले। पछि विद्याको परिवार त्यहीँ बस्न थाल्यो। एक जना सदस्य मात्रै पहाडमा थिइन्- विद्या। कलेजको पढाइकै कारण पहाडमै रहेकी विद्याले मधेस झर्नु त छँदै थियो!
विद्या मधेस–पहाड, उकालो–ओरालो गरिरहन्थिन्। औपचारिक रूपमै पढाइ सकियो- प्रवीणता प्रमाण पत्र तहको।
त्यसपछि मधेसमै बस्ने भइन् विद्या। घरमा पुरानै विषयले अलि नयाँ ढङ्गमा फेरि प्रवेश पायो- विद्याको बिहे।
१४ वर्षदेखि नै चलेको थियो- विद्याको बिहेको कुरा। त्यति बेला उनी १९ वर्ष पूरा हुँदै थिइन्। अब त पहिलेको चर्चा बिस्तारै पारिवारिक दबाब बन्दै थियो। दुइटा कारण जोडिएका थिए त्यसमा।
पहिलो, छोरी हुर्किई। तत्कालीन सामाजिक चेतना र अभ्यासले छोरीको उमेर बिहेलायक भइसकेको थियो। दोस्रो, छोरीको सरसङ्गत र गतिविधि घरमूलीका लागि त्यति सन्तोषजनक थिएन। दबाबको आगो बढाउन यहीँनेर एउटा घटनाले अझ घिउ थप्यो।
अनेरास्ववियुको पाँचौं महाधिवेशन हुँदै थियो। भोजपुरबाट विद्या पाण्डे र विद्या राई प्रतिनिधिका रूपमा छनोट भए। दुवै सँगैका साथी, एकै कक्षाका विद्यार्थी। पुरुष प्रतिनिधि त अरू पनि थिए, महिला दुई जना मात्र। टोलीका अभिभावक बने हिमालधन राई। सुरक्षा, गोप्यता र सूचना गर्ने माध्यमको अभाव वा अरू पनि विभिन्न कारणले विद्याको घरमा कुनै जानकारी गराइएन। उनीहरू भोजपुरबाट धरान झरेर पुष्पा राईको घरमा वास बसे। पुष्पा र विद्या राई दिदीबहिनी हुन्। धरानबाट मोटर चढेर पुगे काठमाडौं।
छोरी कुनै खबर नगरी काठमाडौं गई वा कता? आमालाई ठूलो पीर प¥यो। बित्थैमा बिहेको दबाब दिइयो कि भन्ने पनि प¥यो होला। पापी मन, जे पनि अनुमान गर्न सक्ने ! ‘राईहरूसँग सङ्गत छ। बिहे भनेको जातभात मिल्नेसँग हुनुपर्छ।’ परिवारमा यस्तै सोचिएको पनि हुन सक्छ। अनि आमाले ठूलो कान्छा काका (खगेन्द्र पाण्डे) लाई खोज्न पठाइन्। खगेन्द्र धरान गएर पुष्पालाई भेटे वा अरू कुनै स्रोतबाट अखिलको पाँचौं महाधिवेशनका लागि विद्या काठमाडौं गएको जानकारी पाए। परिवारको असमझदारी बिस्तारै कटुतामा बदलियो र बढ्दै गयो।
विद्या दुविधामा परिन्। समस्या सम्बोधनका उपाय पनि थिए तर पूरै अलग। परिवारले भनेकै ठाउँमा बिहे गर्ने एउटा उपाय थियो, तर त्यतिखेर पार्टी सम्पर्क छाड्नुपर्थ्याे। त्यो अभियानलाई नै बिदा गर्नुपर्थ्याे- सुरक्षित र सजिलो उपाय। अर्को पनि बाँकी थियो उपाय- पार्टीलाई सूचना दिने। तर, पार्टीका सबै भूमिगत नेता, कार्यकर्तासँग नजिकको सम्पर्क र सम्बन्ध थिएन। पार्टीभित्रै बिहेको सम्भावना सोच्ने कुरो पनि भएन। तैपनि विद्याले यो सूचना पार्टीमा गरिन्।
पार्टीमा कार्यकर्ता व्यवस्थापन नीतिबारे विद्यालाई थाहा थिएन। ‘महिला कार्यकर्ता जोगाएर राख्नुपर्छ’ भन्ने छलफल ग-यो वा अरू नै आधारमा निर्णय भयो? बिहेको सूचनालाई पार्टीले सकारात्मक रूपमा लियो र पहिलो प्रस्ताव आयो- मदन भण्डारी।
पढाइको औपचारिक पाठ्यक्रम पूरा भएपछि विद्या विराटनगर झरिन्। पार्टीबाट प्रस्ताव भएकै थियो। मदनसँग भेट भयो। कुराकानी भयो। विद्याको अन्तरमनमा कतै ‘परिवारको स्वीकृतिमै बिहे गर्नुपर्छ’ भन्ने थियो। त्यो भेटमा त्यही कुरा राखिन्, तर त्यस्तो बिहेलाई परिवारले स्वीकार गर्दैन कि भन्ने भएपछि विषयले विश्राम पायो। सहमतिमै ‘अब कुरा अगाडि नबढाउने’ भए उनीहरू। कुराकानी रोकियो, तर दोस्रो व्यक्तिको प्रस्ताव आएन, समय पनि रोकिएन। ढिलै सही, समय अघि बढिरह्यो।
यसबीच कार्यकर्ताको उकुसमुकुस अझ चर्को भएर आयो। त्यो पनि बिनाकारण थिएन। मदन त्यति बेला मोरङ जिल्ला पार्टी कमिटीका सचिव थिए। ठूला नेताको बिहे नभई तलका कार्यकर्ता तम्सिनु पनि भएन। मदनको बिहे भ्याइदिन पाए बाटो खुल्थ्यो। कार्यकर्तालाई त्यस्तो लागेको पनि हुन सक्छ। उनीहरू रमाइला हर्कत गरिरहन्थे। कार्यकर्ताको बुझाइ थियो- मदन र विद्याबीच निकटता नभएकाले समझदारी बन्न नसकेको हो। यी दुईलाई नजिक ल्याउने वातावरण बनाउनुपर्छ। चित्र निरौला, डिल्ली मैनालीहरू खुबै जुटेका थिए त्यतातिर।
कहिलेकाहीँ समूहमा हिँड्नुपरे मदन र विद्यालाई एकै ठाउँ सिट मिलाइदिने। खाँदा, बस्ता सँगै पारिदिने। एउटै रिक्सामा चढ्ने व्यवस्था मिलाइदिने। थाहा नपाएजस्तो गरी यस्तै रमाइला हर्कत गर्न थाले कार्यकर्ताहरू। यसैगरी बिते सात-आठ महिना। त्यही बेला मदनलाई एउटा चिठी आयो पार्टीका तर्फबाट- बिहेबारीजस्तो महत्वको विषय एकैचोटि प्रस्ताव गर्ने र ‘हुन्छ’ वा ‘हुँदैन’ भनेर निर्णय गरी टुङ्ग्याउने होइन। यो विषयमा गम्भीरतापूर्वक सोच्नुपर्छ। पुनर्विचार गर्नुहोला।
मदनले के सोचे कुन्नि? फेरि विद्यासँग दोस्रो चरणको कुराकानी अघि बढ्यो।
विद्या पनि बिलकुल तनावमा थिइन्। नातेदारहरूले प्रस्ताव ल्याइरहने। घरै जान मुस्किल हुन थालेपछि जान कम गर्न थालिन्। सेल्टर र पार्टी काममै व्यस्त हुन्थिन्। उनले आफैँ पनि कुनै निर्णय गर्ने अवस्था बन्दै थियो। परिवारले भनेको, आमाले भनेको ठाउँमा बिहे गर्ने हो भने उद्देश्य बनाएर हिँडेको अभियान छाड्नुपर्ने। घरगृहस्थीमै बित्न सक्थ्यो बाँकी जीवन। तर, पार्टीको प्रस्ताव मान्ने हो भने आफ्नो अभियानले निरन्तरता पाउँथ्यो। धमिलो धमिलो गरी विद्याको विवेक खुल्यो। उनले ‘ठिकै छ, हुन्छ’ भन्ने सङ्केत गरिन्।
ल, अब हुन्छ भन्ने निधो भयो। त्यसपछि पनि प्रक्रिया बुझौं आदि इत्यादिले आठ–दस महिना बिते। अन्ततः दुवैले पार्टीलाई चिठी लेखेर प्रक्रिया पूरा गरे। पार्टीले स्वीकृति दियो। मिति, स्थान र आयोजक तोकियो।

चित्त दुखाइन्- ‘यो संसारमा कोही क्षत्री केटो नभेटेर बाहुनका छोरासँग बिहे गरेकी?’
मदनले पनि घरमा खबर गरे, तर घरबाट सबै परिवार आउने स्थिति थिएन। प्रेम र गीता आए। पढेलेखेका प्रेम पार्टी सम्पर्कमै भएकाले सुझबुझ राम्रै थियो। उता पनि उही चित्त दुखाइ- हाम्रो छोराले संसारमा बाहुनी केटी नै नपाएर क्षत्रीकी छोरी बिहे गर्नुपर्ने?
समान गुनासो ! गुनासो पनि समान हुने रहेछ!
हुन त दुई किस्तामा चल्यो बिहेको कुराकानी। पहिले टुङ्गिएको कुराकानी पार्टीले ‘पुनर्विचार गर्न’ पत्र पठाएपछि फेरि सुरु भयो- कार्यकर्ताले हत्ते हालेर निकटता बढाए। सोच्न समय दिए। तैपनि दुवैले जात र थर सोधेका थिएनन्, न त गोत्र नै सोधे। परिवारलाई गुनासो गर्ने ठाउँ मिल्यो- के क्रान्तिकारीहरूले यी केही कुरा सोध्नै हुँदैन? धेरैलाई यस्तै लाग्दो हो।
कुनै पनि गुनासो दीर्घकालका लागि हुँदैन। यसको व्यवस्थापनका बाटा छन् र हुन्छन्। तर, गुनासो व्यवस्थापन भइसके पनि मनको कुनै कुनामा बाँकी नै थियो। जिन्दगीले घामछाया झेल्नु नै छ। सबैको हकमा लागू हुन्छ यो नियम। मदनका बुबाआमा पनि बाँकी मान्छेजस्तै हुन्। आफू हिँड्ने बाटो आफैँले सम्याउँदै अघि बढ्नु थियो।
मदनका बुबाआमा तीर्थ गर्न भारत गएका थिए। फर्किने बाटो विराटनगर नै हो, त्यही बाटो फर्किने भए। मदन विराटनगरमै भएकाले छोरालाई भेटेर जाने सोचेछन्। त्यो खबर थाहा पाएपछि पार्टी कार्यकर्ताले बुहारी पनि चिनाउने तारतम्य मिलाए।
भेटघाट भयो। बुबाआमाले बुहारी चिने, बुहारीले सासू-ससुरा। त्यो संयोग जुट्ता बिहे भएको दुई वर्ष भइसकेको थियो।
त्यसपछिको दसैंमा बुहारी लिएर मदन बुबाआमा भेट्न गए आफ्नो गाउँ- इटहरा।
विद्याको पनि घरमा सम्पर्क थिएन। आवतजावत पूरै बन्द। ठूली छोरी ५/६ महिनाकी भएपछि ‘आमालाई भेट्ने र आफन्तहरू पनि चिन्ने’ भनेर मदन पहिलोपल्ट ससुराली गए, दसैंकै छेको पारेर। मोरङका बाहुन, मदनका लागि नयाँ थिएन त्यो ठाउँ। भूमिगत सङ्गठन गरेको ठाउँ भए पनि त्यसपटक भने ज्वाइँ भएर गएका थिए- नयाँ पहिचान लिएर।
छोरी र ज्वाइँ आएका छन् नातिनी पनि लिएर।
आमाको मन त रमायो नै, तैपनि अलिकति गुनासो पोखिहालिन्- ‘अरूका छोरीले त ज्वाइँ बिहेमै लिएर आउँछन्, आफ्नो त नातिनातिना भएपछि मात्रै ज्वाइँ चिनिन्छ!’
सायद यति त जायज थियो कि?

मदन र विद्याहरू भूमिगत शैलीमै बसे कि केही केही व्यवस्थित गर्ने प्रयास पनि गरे?
बिहेभन्दा पहिलेदेखि मदन स्थानीय पार्टी सङ्गठनलाई भनिरहन्थे- ‘अब काम व्यवस्थित ढङ्गले अगाडि बढाउनुपर्छ। झोला बोक्यो, एक ठाउँबाट अर्को ठाउँ गयो, कसरी चल्छ? कागजपत्र राख्नुप-यो, किताबहरू छन्। एउटा व्यवस्थित लाइब्रेरी चाहिन्छ। कतैबाट आउँदा नुहाइधुवाइ गर्ने, बिसाउने, लेखपढ गर्ने एउटा सेल्टर बनाउनुस्।’
साथीहरू पनि विभिन्न ढङ्गले व्यवस्थापनको प्रयास गरिरहेका थिए। यस्तैमा विराटनगरको तिनटोलियामा रामप्रसाद/दुर्गा ढकालको घरमा कोठा लिए। उनीहरू पार्टी समर्थक नै थिए। एउटा कोठामा साथीहरू बस्ने र एउटाचाहिँ मदनका लागि छुट्याए निजी उपयोगका लागि। दराजहरू राखेर त्यहाँ पुस्तकालयको झल्को दिने गरी व्यवस्था गरियो। बिहेपछि विद्या पनि त्यहीँ गइन्। घरभेटी र साथीहरूलाई बिहेको जानकारी दिए। बाहिरतिर त्यो आवश्यक पनि थिएन, दिइएन पनि।
भूमिगत सङ्गठनका कार्यकर्ता न परे। एक ठाउँमा जमेर बस्न नसक्ने, बस्न पनि नहुने- प्रहरीले थाहा पायो कि? छापा मार्ने हो कि? शङ्का ग-यो, सर्याे। मान्छेको बाक्लो आवतजावत हुन थाल्यो कि ‘सेल्टर खुल्छ’ भन्यो, सर्याे। नयाँ मान्छेको ओहोरदोहोर हुन थाल्यो कि ‘निगरानी गर्न थालेको’ आशङ्कामा सर्याे। मदनको टोली विराटनगरको उत्तर-दक्षिणका कुनाकानी डेरा सरिरहे।
बिहे हुँदा तिनटोलियामा डेरा थियो। ठूली छोरी जन्मिँदा पुरानो हवाईफिल्ड जाने बाटो अर्थात् अहिलेको स्नातकोत्तर क्याम्पसभन्दा उत्तरपट्टि कुनामा सरेका थिए। विद्यासँग त्यो सेल्टरमा अमर श्रेष्ठ, ईश्वरी लामिछाने, नरेन्द्र भट्टराईहरू बस्थे। त्यहाँको बसाइ तुलनात्मक हिसाबले अलि व्यवस्थित थियो। एउटा कोठामा अमरहरू बस्ने, अर्को मदनहरूका लागि। एउटामा पुस्तकालय बनाइएको थियो। एउटा भान्छा कोठा र अझै एउटा भैपरी आउने कोठा पनि थियो।
ठूली छोरी कोसी अञ्चल अस्पतालमा जन्मिइन्। मदन काममा गएकाले अमर, ईश्वरीहरूले नै विद्यालाई अस्पताल पुर्याए। दुई/तीन दिनपछि मात्र आइपुगे मदन। छोरी जन्मिएको केही समयपछि पार्टीकै साथीहरू भेला भएका थिए खाना खानेगरी। त्यही मेसोमा छोरीको नामकरण गर्ने कुरा भयो। सबैले एकएकओटा नाम लेखेर दिने भनियो, मदनसँग निकै नजिक रहेका जे.बी. टुहुरेले अगुवाइ गरे। उनको संयोजनमा नाम सङ्कलन गरी अन्तिम निर्णयका लागि आमालाई दिइयो। विद्याले छोरीको नामका लागि अन्तिम निर्णय गरिन्। संयोगले त्यो शब्द मदनले लेखेकै परेछ- उषाकिरण।
त्यो ठाउँबाट मदनहरू विराटनगरको उत्तरी क्षेत्र कञ्चनबारी सरे। त्यहाँ पनि दुई ठाउँ सर्नुपर्याे। कोइरालाको घरमा अलि लामै बसेर रेग्मीको घरमा सरे मदनहरू। सानी छोरी जन्मदा भने मदनहरू बरगाछी सरिसकेका थिए भट्टराईको घरमा। मदन र उनको समूहले विराटनगरका कुनाकानी चहारिसकेको थियो।
सानी छोरी जन्मिने दिन विद्या माइतीमा थिइन्। विद्याकी आमा र भाइहरू विराटनगरमै बस्थे, घरै बनाएर। माइतीमै भएका बेला प्रसव सुरु भयो, अस्पताल गए। फेरि छोरी नै जन्मिई। त्यसपल्ट विद्यालाई पहिलेजस्तो गाह्राे भएन। आमाको साथ भएर हो कि?
त्यसबेला मदनको आवतजावत काठमाडौंतिर बढी नै हुन्थ्यो। पहिले मोरङ र कोसी क्षेत्र घुम्ने मान्छे, पछिल्लो समय बढी नै काठमाडौं जाने-आउने गरेको विद्यालाई थाहा थियो, तर किन? उनलाई अनुमान थिएन। सोध्ने वा भन्ने कुरा पनि हुँदैनथ्यो राजनीतिक गोप्यताको अनुशासनले।
खासमा मदन त्यतिबेला पोलिटब्युरो सदस्य भइसकेका थिए।
अब दुईतिर
पोलिटब्युरोको जिम्मेवारीपछि पार्टीमा कामको चाप बढेको थियो। यता दुइटी छोरी भएपछि पारिवारिक जिम्मेवारी पनि थपियो। मदनले कति ख्याल गरे तर छोरी लिएर बस्ने विद्यालाई भने दिनहुँ उकुसमुकुस बढ्दै थियो। मदनको विराटनगर आउनु-जानु पातलो भइसकेको थियो- अस्थायी वासका रूपमा। बिस्तारै समस्याहरू बढ्दै थिए। आर्थिक समस्या झन् चर्को थियो। समस्याले मदनहरूलाई सोच्न बाध्य बनायो।
मदन चाहन्थे- आर्थिक उपार्जनको काम गर्नुपर्छ, आफू अलि व्यवस्थित हुनुपर्छ, आफ्नै उत्पादन पनि हुनुपर्छ। दुवै सँगसँगै हिँडेर हुँदैन, उत्पादनसँग जोडिएर गृहस्थी सम्हाल्दै जानुपर्छ। विद्यालाई पनि छटपटी हुन्थ्यो- पार्टीले मदनको जिम्मेवारी लिन सक्छ, तर सिङ्गो परिवारको लिन सक्तैन। हामीले कसैको बोझ बन्नु पनि हुँदैन। घरबाट चामल ल्याउने, माइतीमा सहयोग माग्ने कुराले विद्यालाई पनि असजिलो भएको थियो। कुनै काम गर्न विद्या मनैदेखि तयार थिइन्, मौका खोज्दै।
‘काठमाडौंतिरै आउने कि?’ प्रदीप नेपालले प्रस्ताव गरेका थिए।
मदनलाई अलि धेरै समय काठमाडौंमै बस्नुपर्ने कारणले पनि प्रदीपले त्यो प्रस्ताव गरेका होलान्, तर विद्यालाई आँट आएन- नयाँ ठाउँ, विराटनगरमा जस्तो चिनेजानेका पनि थिएनन्। विराटनगरमा त चिनेका मान्छे, धेरैजसो जानेको ठाउँ। माइती पनि यहीँ। आपसी सहयोग हुन्छ। काठमाडौंमा चिनेको कोही छैन, मदन हिँडेको हिँड्यै गर्ने। त्यो न जन्मेको ठाउँ, न माइती, न त मावली, कसरी बस्ने? गुजारा कसरी गर्ने? मनभरि डर थियो। थुप्रै समस्या देखेर विद्याले प्रदीपको प्रस्ताव स्वीकार गरिनन्।
बरु बेलबारी जाने निर्णय गरिन् विद्याले।
२०४३ सालको कुरा हो, विद्या मोरङकै बेलबारीनजिकै नक्सालमा पढाउन थालिन्। जनता प्राथमिक विद्यालयमा सामाजिक विषय पढाउने शिक्षिका विद्या पाण्डेको पहिलो जागिरे अनुभव थियो त्यो। बेलबारीकै भगवती माध्यमिक विद्यालयमा पढाउँथे गुरु बराल, हर्कमान तामाङहरू। दुवै पार्टी सम्पर्कमा रहेका, भूमिगत काममा संलग्न। त्यसले पनि विद्यालाई सजिलो बनाएको थियो। विद्या विद्यालय र पार्टी काम दुवैमा सक्रिय थिइन्।
