२० वर्षको अन्तरालमा अच्युत सामन्तको जीवन र व्यक्तिवमा आकाश जमिनको वदलाव आएको छ । पेटभरी दर्ुइ छाक खान नपुग्ने सामान्य गरिवबाट उनी संसारकै सम्मानित मानिसको दर्जामा उक्लिन सफल भएका छन् ।
उडिसाको राजधानी भूवनेश्वरबाट पचास किलो मिटरको दुरीमा कलरावाङ नामको एउटा गाउ“ छ । अति गरिव तथा आदिवासी जनताको वसोवास रहेको त्यही गाउ“को एक निम्न परिवारमा पा“च दशक अघि सन् १९६५ मा जन्मिएका अच्युत सामन्तले सन् १९६९ को दिन विहान पा“च वजेको आसपास आमा लगायत परिवारका सदस्यहरु अचानक जोड जोडका साथ किन रुदैछन् भन्ने वुझ्न सकेनन् । चार वषिर्य ती अवोधलाई त्यति बेला के गर्ने के नगर्ने भन्ने थाहै भएन । आमा सहितपरिवारका सदस्यहरुका आसुको वलिन्धारा र मलिनो अनुहार हरेर वसिरहे । आफू चार वर्षो हुदा रेल दर्ुघटनामा पिता मारिएको धेरै पछि मात्र उनलाई थाहा भयो ।
एउटा उद्योगमा ज्यालादारी काम गर्ने घर मुली वावुको मृत्युसंगै सामन्त परिवारमा चरम दुखका दिन शुरु भए ।सातजना लालावालाको पालन पोषण गर्ने जिम्मेवारी विधुवा आमा निलिमा रानी सामन्तको काधका थपियो । जेठो सन्तानको उमेर १७वर्षर कान्छाको उमेर केवलएक महिना मात्र थियो । घरमा खानाको लागि न अन्न थियो नत कुनै पनि सदस्यका लागि जीउमा लगाएको एक जोर वाहेक नुहाउदा फर्ेर्ने अर्को कपडा नै । मजदुरी पेशावाट परिवारका आठ सदस्यकोपालन पोषण गर्दै आएका सामन्तका वावुले सन्तानका लागि सम्पत्ति जगेडा गर्न पनि सम्भव थिएन । नत सामन्त परिवारका लागि आय आर्जनको भरपर्दो अर्को विकल्प नै थियो ।
अभावै अभाव विच कठोर संर्घष्ा र तपस्याबाट हर्ुर्किएका अच्युत सामन्तलाई सानै देखि गरिव दुखिका लागि केही गर्ने चाहना थियो । सात वर्षो उमेर देखि नै उनले घरको काममा आमालाई सघाउनुका साथै गाउ“लेहरुलाई समेत सहयोग गर्न थाली सकेका थिए ।
सन् १९९० को दशकमा केमेष्ट्रिमा स्नातकोत्तर पुरा गरेसंगै उनी स्थानीय क्याम्पसमा पार्ट टाइम पढाउन थाले । त्यसरी पढाएर पाउने पारिश्रमिक परिवार र साथीहरुका लागि खर्च गर्न थाले । तर केही समय पछि उनलाई पार्ट टाइमको शिक्षक पेशाबाट सन्तुष्टि भएन । अनी सन् १९९२ ९३ ताका पा“चहजारको लगानीमा सामन्तले कलिङगा इष्टिच्युट अफ इण्डष्ट्रियल टेक्नोलोजी -किट) र कलिङगा इष्टिच्युट अफ सोसल साइन्स -किस) नामक दर्ुइ शिक्षण संस्थाको स्थापना गरे । अनी किटलाई मेडिकल साइन्स, इन्जिनियरिङ, व्यवस्थापन लगायत विश्वका अत्याधुनिक विषयमा धनी विद्यार्थीहरुलाई अध्ययन अध्यापन गराउने नाफामूलक संस्थाको रुपमा विकसित गर्दै लगे । अर्को तर्फकिटको नाफा आदिवासी र पिछडिएका गरिव वालवालिकालाई निशुल्क पढाउने किसका लागि खर्च गर्ने सुन्दर मोडल वनाए ।
आफन्त र शुभ चिन्तकबाट ऋण लिएर दर्ुइ शैक्षिक संस्थाको विस्तारका लागि योजना वनाए । तर केही वर्षपछि सामन्तको टाउकोमा २५ लाख रुपैयाको ऋण थुप्रियो । त्यही दवाव खप्न नसकेर एक पटक उनले आत्महत्या गर्नेसम्मको सोचाई वनाए ।
तर विस्तारै आफूलाई सम्हाल्दै लगे । दुवै संस्थाको उन्नती हुदै गयो । क्रमश ऋण चुक्ता गर्दै शैक्षिक संस्थाको विस्तार गर्दै गए ।
भाडाको सानो घरमा १२ जना विद्यार्थीबाट शुरु गरेको किट आज २५ हजार विद्यार्थी रहेको भारतकैप्रतिष्ठित विश्वविद्यालयमा स्थापित छ । संसारमा पढाइने अत्याधुनिक विषयका २० क्याम्पस यससंग आवद्ध छन् । त्यसै गरी१२५ जना आदिवासी गरिव वालवालिकाबाट शुरु भएको किस आज गरिव र आदिवासी वालवालिकालाई शिसु देखि स्नातकोत्तरसम्म आवास, खाना, शिक्षा र स्वास्थ्य लगायतका सबै सेवा निशुल्क उपलव्ध गराउने संसारकै सवै भन्दा ठूलो शैक्षिक संस्था वन्न सकेको छ । दुवै संस्थामा पचास हजार विद्यार्थी छन् । किट पर्ूर्वी भारतको र्सवाधिक उचाईको विश्वविद्यालयमा पर्छ । किटको नाफा सञ्चालकले लिदैनन् । संस्थापक सामन्तले किट विश्वविद्यालयको नियममै उसको नाफा किसको खातामा जम्मा गर्ने व्यवस्था गरिदिएका छन् । जसबाट उडिसाका र्सवाधिक गरिव समुदायका २५ हजार विद्यार्थीले किसमा आवासिय सुविधा सहित निशुल्क पढ्न पाइरहेका छन् ।त्यसैले त किस सञ्चालनका लागि न सरकारी वजेटको भर गर्नु पर्छ, नत दाताहरुको मुख ताक्नु पर्ने वाध्यता छ । दर्ुइ संस्थामा प्राज्ञिक र अन्य गरी १० हजारले प्रत्यक्ष रोजगारी पाएका छन् । सबै कर्मचारीले हरेक महिनाको पारिश्रमिकबाट किसका लागि ३ प्रतिशत रकम चन्दा दिने गर्छन् । किट विश्वविद्यालयअर्न्तर्गतका २० वटै क्याम्पसले सामान वा सेवा खरिद गर्दा आउने कमिसन सिधै किसको खातामा जम्मा हुन्छ ।
किस र किटका संस्थापक अच्युत सामन्त भन्छन् 'गरिवी निवारण र देशको विकासका लागि शिक्षा वाहेक अर्को कुनै उपयुक्त विकल्प छैन । मेरो जीवनको सबै भन्दा सुखद क्षण भनेकै गरिव वालवालिकाको अनुहारमा झल्किने खुसी र मुहारमा देखिने मुस्कान नै हो' उनको विचारमा गरीवलाई शिक्षा दिनु दृष्टिविहीनलाई ज्योति दिनु सरह हो ।
किट र किसले छोटो समयमा पाएको युगान्तकारी सफलता कुनै दन्त्य कथा भन्दा कम छैन । संस्थापक सामन्त भन्छन् 'म पत्याउनै सक्दिन । यो सव भगवानको कृया हो । पा“च हजारको लगानीमा शुरु गरेको संस्थामा आज पचास हजार विद्यार्थी छन् । यति रफ्तारमा सफल भइएला भन्ने मैले कहिल्यै कल्पना गरेको थिइन' ।
किट र किसबाट सामन्तले स्थापना गरेको मोडेललाई नमुनाको रुपमा स्थापित गर्न सकियो भने शिक्षाको माध्यमवाट गरिवी निवारण गर्ने सबै भन्दा उपयुक्त मोडेल गरिव मुलुकहरुमा स्थापित हुन सक्छ । शिसु कक्षामा भर्ना भएका वालवालिका एकै पटक एमए पास गरेर वाहिरिन्छन् । किसवाट निस्कदा हरेक विद्यार्थीले केही न केही रकम लिएर जान पाउने मोडेल पनि सामन्तले वनाएका छन् । विश्वविद्यालयमा पढ्ने पचास हजार विद्यार्थी र १० हजार कर्मचारीका लागि नभै नहुने अत्यावश्यक वस्तुको उत्पादनमा विद्यार्थीलाई नै सकृय वनाइन्छ । पर्ढाई वाहेक उनीहरुले सिलाई कर्टाई, पशुपालन, कृषि, पोष्ट्रि फार्म लगायतका विषयमा तालिम लिनै पर्छ । उनीहरुले रुचि अनुसार काम गर्छन र उत्पादन भएको सामान विश्वविद्यालयले नै खरिद गरिदिन्छ । किसमा पढ्ने सबै २५ हजार आदिवासी गरिव विद्यार्थीको नाममा बैक खाता खोलीएको छ । काम गरे वापत पाउने पारिश्रमिकको केही अंश संस्थाका लागि राखेर वा“की उनीहरुकै खातामा जम्मा हुन्छ ।
सामन्तको दुरगामी सोच, इमान्दार नेतृत्व र कुशल व्यवस्थापनकै कारण किसको माध्यमवाट उडिसामा गरिवी निवारण र समाज विकासको ठूलो क्रान्ति सफलता तर्फउन्मुख हुदै गएको छ ।
सन् २०१३ मे १७ का दिन सामन्तले शिक्षाका लागि नया“ मोडल स्थापित गरेका छन् 'आर्ट अर्फगिभिङ' । सामन्तका विचारमा अधिकांश मानिस राज्य वा समाजबाट मलाई के फाइदा हुन्छ भन्ने सोच राख्छन् तर अरुलाई दिएर आफूले सामान्य जीवन यापन गर्नुको आनन्द सबै भन्दा माथि छ । सायद त्यसैलाई स्वर्गिय आनन्द भनिएको होला ।
सामन्त भन्छन् 'दुखि गरिवलाई शिक्षा दान दिएर उनीहरुको आर्थिक सामाजिक रुपान्तरणमा सघाउन पाउनुलाई मैले आफ्नो सौभाग्य ठानेको छु । दुनियामा मेरा लागि यो भन्दा अर्को सुखद क्षण हुन सक्दैन' ।
एक जना व्यक्तिको एकल प्रयासमा स्थापना भएको संस्थाले दर्ुइ दशकको अन्तरालमा मारेको फड््को र पाएको फलता स्वयं यसका संस्थापक समान्तका लागि समेत चमत्कार झै लाग्छ ।
सन् २०१३ सम्ममा किट र किससंग आश्रति भएर प्रत्यक्ष अप्रत्यक्ष लाभ लिनेको संख्या १० लाखको हाराहरीमा पुगेको छ । आगामी सन् २०२० सम्ममा यो संख्यालाई १ करोड पुर्याउनेे लक्ष्य सामन्तको छ ।
किटले सन् २००४ सालमा विश्वविद्यालयको मान्यता पाएको हो । १० वर्षो छोटो अवधिमा किट भारतका उत्कृष्ठ विश्वविद्यालयको सूचीमा परेको छ ।
सामन्तले स्थापना गरेका दुवै संस्थाले उडिसाको राजधानी भूवनेश्वरमा वाषिर्क १२० करोड रुपैयाको करोवार गर्छन् । तर त्यसका पिता अविवाहित अच्युत सामन्त भने आफ्ना नेपाली सहयोगी प्युठानका चित्रप्रसाद वहादुरका साथ सानो दर्ुइ कोठेे एउटा भाडाको घरमासामान्य जीवन यापन गर्छन । सम्भव भएसम्म आफैले वनाएको शाकाहारी भोजन गर्छन् । किट र किस दुवै संस्थाका लागि उनी दैनिक १८ घण्टा खटिन्छन् । आध्यात्मीक चिन्तनमा उनको रुचि छ । गान्धि र वुद्धको विचारवाट प्रभावित सामन्तले पहिलो विदेश भ्रमण गरेको देश नेपाल हो र उनी नेपालका गरिव दुखी वालवालिकाका लागि कसैले प्रयास गरे सक्दो सहयोग गर्ने चाहना राख्छन् । धनी र गरिवी विचको खाडल पुरेर मुलुकलाई शान्ति र संमृद्धिको वाटोमा लैजान आर्ट अफ गिभिङ वाहेक अर्को उपयुक्त मोडल दक्षिण एसिया र गरिव मुलुकका लागि छैन भन्ने विश्वास उनको छ । सामन्त भन्छन् 'तर नेपालका गरिव वालवालिकालाई निशुल्क शिक्षा दिन नेपालमै र्सार्थक प्रयास हुन जरुरी छ । हामीले त आफ्नो अनुभवबाट सक्दो सहयोग गर्ने मात्र हो' ।
संसारकै नमुना
गरिव र आदिवासी वालवालिकालाई निशुल्क शिक्षा दिने किसमा अहिलेसम्म पाचस भन्दा वढी मुलुकका सरकार र राज्य प्रमुखले भ्रमण गरिसकेका छन् । हरेक वर्षएक वा दर्ुइ जनाका नोवेल पुरस्कार विजेता किसका विद्यार्थीहरुसंग अन्तकृया गर्न आउने गर्छन । अहिलेसम्म १० जना नोवेल विजेता किसमा आएर विद्यार्थीहरुसंग अन्तकृया गरेका छन् ।
किट विश्वविद्यालयका अन्तराष्ट्रिय मामिला प्रमुख प्रा.विश्वनाथ रथ भन्छन् 'किसका विद्यार्थीहरु विभिन्न राष्ट्रिय तथा अन्तराष्ट्रिय खेलकुद प्रतियोगितामा समेत उत्कृष्ठ भएका छन् । पर्ढाईमा समेत अव्वल छन् । प्राय सबै कक्षामा शत प्रतिशत उर्त्रिण हुन्छन्' ।
किसवाट उत्कृष्ठ हुने पा“च प्रतिशत विद्यार्थीले किट विश्वविद्यायमा मेडिकल, इञ्जिनीयरिङ, व्यवस्थापन, नर्सिङ लगायतका प्राविधिक विषयमा पढ्न पाउछन् । त्यसै गरी संस्थापक सामन्तले किट र किसवाट उत्पादित जनशक्तिलाई आफ्नै संस्थामा रोजगारी दिने गरेका छन् । प्राध्यापक रथ भन्छन् 'संस्थापक अच्युत सामन्तको दुरगामी सोच र इमान्दार नेतृत्वकै परिणाम छोटो अवधिमा किस र किटको विस्तार सम्भव भएको हो' ।
सामन्तले आफ्ना दुवै संस्थालाई विद्यार्थीका लागि आवश्यक पर्ने सबै खाले सुविधा सम्पन्न वनाएका छन् । कतिसम्म भने किसमा पढ्ने अधिकांश दलित समुदायका वालवालिका छन् । दलित समुदायलाई प्रसिद्ध हिन्दु मन्दीर जगन्नाथपुरीमा प्रवेश दिइदैन । सामन्तले त्यहा“का विद्यार्थीहरुका लागि शैक्षिक संस्था हाता भित्रै जगन्नाथपुरी जस्तै मन्दीर वनाई दिएका छन् । १० हजार मानिस वस्न मिल्ने गरी वहुउपयोगी हल वनाएका छन् । जहा“ पा“च हजार भन्दा वढी वालवालिकाले एक साथ वसेर खाना खान सक्छन् । त्यति मात्र होइन, किस हातालाई वातावरण अनुकुलित वनाउन सोलारवाट विद्युत उत्पादन गरिन्छ भने २५ हजार विद्यार्थीका लागि खाना वनाउन समेत अत्याधुनिक प्रविधिको वाष्प प्लान्ट जडान गरीएको छ ।
किसमा पढ्ने विद्यार्थीहरु वर्षा २ महिना आफ्नो घरमा जान्छन् भने वाकी १० महिना आवाशिय सुविधा सहित पढ्छन् । दर्ुइ छाक पौष्टिक खाना नपाउने वालवालिकाका लागि सामन्तले ८० एकड जमिनमा १५ लाख वर्ग फिट सुविधा सम्पन्न भौतिक पर्ूवाधार तयार गरेका छन् । १५ हजार वर्गफिट क्षेत्रफलमा २० हजार शिर्षका पुस्तक सहितको सुविधासम्पन्न पुस्तकालय वनाई दिएका छन् ।

फलस्वरुप गत वर्षअन्तराष्ट्रिय युवा दिवसका दिन यहा“का वालवालिकाले संयुक्त राष्ट्रसंघका महासचिव वान कि मुनसंग एसियाको प्रतिनिधित्व गर्दै अन्तकृया गर्ने लगायतका कैयौ मञ्चमा सकृयतापर्ूवक भाग लिएर व्यक्तित्व विकास गर्ने अवसर पाएका छन् ।
सामाजिक उत्तरदायित्व

गत फागुन २ गते फिल्म निर्देशक दिपा वस्नेत, कान्तिपुरका पत्रकार घनश्याम खड्का र मलाई भूवनेश्वर स्थित किट विश्वविद्यालय र किसको भ्रमण गर्ने अवसर मिल्यो । त्यो दिन भारतको सर्वोच्च अदालतका न्यायाधिशहरु सुधांशु जोशी, पी.सी. घोषका साथै उडिसा हाईकोर्टका मुख्य न्यायाधिस अभिताभ रोय र कलकत्ता हाईकोटका न्यायाधिस पी.के. चटोपाध्याय किसका विद्यार्थीसंग अन्तकृया गर्न पुगेका थिए । त्यही पहिलो पटक हामीले संस्थापक समान्तसंग पहिलो पटक भेट्ने अवसर पायौ । त्यत्रो संस्थाका संस्थापक निक्कै ठाटका साथ वरिपरि कैयौ सहयोगीको झुण्ड लिएर आउनेछन् भन्ने कल्पना मनमनै गरिरहेको थिए । हामीसंग थिए विश्वविद्यालयका जनसर्म्पर्क मामिला प्रमुख विश्वनाथ रथ । क्षणभर पर्खाईसंगै जिन्सको पाइन्ट, कालो ज्वारीकोट लगाएका एक जना मानिस आई पुगे । उनलाई देख्ने वित्तिकै टाउको निहुराएर अभिवादन गरे । त्यति सामान्य व्यक्ति नै किसका संस्थापक समान्त हुन् भने पछि म त छक्क परे । पत्याउनै गाह्रो भयो । मञ्च अगाडी विद्यार्थी खचाखच भरिएका छन् । सामन्तले सबै न्यायाधिसा साथै हामी नेपालबाट गएका तीनजनालाई एक एक गरेर विद्यार्थीका माझ परिचय गराए । न भाषण भूषण, न कुनै ताम झाम । कार्यक्रम सकियो । अनी किट विश्वविद्यायल अर्न्तर्गतको ल डिपाटमेन्टमा पढ्ने विद्यार्थीका विच कर्पोरेट सोसियल रेस्पोन्सिविलिटी विषयमा न्यायाधिसहरुले आफ्नो धारणा राखे । व्यापार व्यवशायवाट कमाएको मध्ये केही रकम समाज सेवामा लगाउनु पर्छ भन्ने विषयमा न्यायाधिसहरुले विद्यार्थीसंग अन्तकृया गरे । हाम्रो नेपाल जस्तो सबै वक्ताले वोल्नै पर्ने संस्कार त्यहा“ देखिएन ।
सामान्यतयाव्यापार व्यवशायमा सफलता चुमे पछि राजनीतिमा फड्को मार्ने चाहना आम नेपाली शिक्षाका उद्धमीमा रहेको पाइन्छ । त्यसैले त संविधानसभामा देशका झण्डै एक दर्जन सफल शिक्षा व्यवशायी राजनीतिक दलहरुलाई मोटो रकम चन्दा दिएर सभासद भएका छन् । जसमा उमेश श्रेष्ठ, वावुराम पोखरेल, गिता राणा, लक्ष्मण राजवंशी, तेजुलाल चौधरी लगायत छन् । सामाजिक उत्तरदायित्व वहन गर्दै तिनले कमाएको रकमको केही अंश मात्र सामन्तले जस्तो सामाजिक काममा लगानी गरेको भए हजारौ गरिव नेपाली वालवालिकाले शिक्षाको अवसर पाउने थिए ।
तर समान्तको चाहना भने जीवनको अन्तिम क्षणसम्म गरिव दुखी वालवालिकाको सेवा गर्ने छ ।किट विश्वविद्यायमा अध्ययन पुरा गरी त्यही इञ्जिनीयरको जागिर गर्दै आएका रोशन रथ भन्छन् 'सामन्त सर राजनीतिमा आएर निर्वाचन लड्नु भयो भने र्सवाधिक मतका साथ जित्न सक्नु हुन्छ । उहा“लाई जनस्तरबाट जुन तहको सम्मान प्राप्त छ । सायद उडिसा अरु कसैलाई त्यो तहको सम्मान छैन । तर उहा“ राजनीतिमा जाने कुरा सोच्न समेत सक्नुहुन्न' ।
