त्यो कार्यक्रमको उद्घोषक स्थापित आफै थिए । अघिल्लो दिन नै त्यो सभामा के भन्ने, कसरी वोल्ने भन्ने वारे विद्यालाई प्रशिक्षित गरियो । अनी सभामा उद्घोषण गर्दै स्थापितले भनिदिए ‘कांग्रेसले यो के हर्कत गरेको ? एउटा विधुवाको पोष्टरमा गोवर लगाउने, कालो र रातो रंग छ्याप्ने ? कांग्रेसीहरु पराजित मानसिकतामा पुगि सके र यस्तो घृणित काम गरि रहेका छन् ।’

चितवनको दासढुंगामा भएको जीप दुर्घटनामा नेकपा एमालेका तत्कालीन महासचिव मदनकुमार भण्डारीको निधन भएको पनि २८ वर्ष पुग्यो । २०५० जेठ ३ गतेको त्यो घटना स्वभाविक दुर्घटना थियो या षड्यन्त्र, त्यस वारे अहिलेसम्म अनुसन्धान भएको छैन । त्यति वेला आफ्ना महासचिवको षड्यन्त्रमूलक ढंगवाट हत्या भएको भन्दै सडक र सदन तताएको नेकपा एमाले पटक पटक सत्तामा पुग्यो । तैपनि घटना वारे छानविनको पहलसम्म भएन । भण्डारीको मृत्य पछि एमालेबाट मनमोहन अधिकारी, माधवकुमार नेपाल, झलनाथ खनाल र केपी ओली प्रधानमन्त्री बने । यति बेला मदन भण्डारीको श्रीमती विद्यादेदी भण्डारी दोस्रो कार्यकालका लागि राष्ट्रपति छन् । तर पनि किन दासढुंगा वारे छानविन हुदैन । यो घटनाको राजनीतिकरणबाट सबै भन्दा वढी लाभ एमालेका नेताहरुलाई भएको छ भने श्रीमती विद्यादेवी भण्डारीलाई सामान्य गृहणीबाट राष्ट्र प्रमुख बन्ने अवसर मिलेको छ । यो आलेख भने मदनको निधन पछि विद्यालाई उपचुनाव जिताउने एमालेका तर्फबाट के कस्तो प्रोपागाण्डा गरिएको थियो भन्ने विषयमा केन्द्रीत छ ।
यस प्रसंगमा काठमाडौं महानगरका पूर्व मेयर केशव स्थापितले खुलासा गरेका छन् । भण्डारीको चुनाव प्रचार प्रसार अभियानका मुख्य सारथी स्थापितले ‘नेपाल आज’ अनलाइनसंगको भिडियो अन्तवार्तामा भनेका छन् ‘एमालेकै नेताहरु भन्थे ‘कृष्णप्रसाद भट्टराईका सामु विद्याको के तुलना हुन्छ र । फेरी उहा वोल्न पनि नजान्ने । मञ्चमा पनि अरुले भाषण गर्ने हो, उहा“लाई त उभ्याउने न हो भन्थे हाम्रै नेताहरु ।’
राजधानीका प्रवद्व मतदाताको अघि उनलाई मदन भण्डारीकी विधुवा भनेर मात्र जिताउन सक्ने अवस्था थिएन । स्थापित उपाय लगाए । शुरुमा व्यवशायीक फोटोग्राफर लगेर ‘फोटो सुट’ गराए । सेतो सारीमा घुम्टो ओडेको तस्वीरलाई ‘जनता की छोरी’ का रुपमा ब्राण्डिङ गरे । ‘वीस वाई वीस’ साइजको पोष्टर डिजाइन गरी आफ्नै प्रेसमा छापे र क्षेत्र नम्वर १ का मख्य चोक चोकमा टा“स्ने प्रवन्ध मिलाए ।
